volunteering
Volunteers are an essential part of the team here at the Nomad Trust. The role of Volunteers is very different from that of employees. There is no contract of employment or services between the Nomad Trust and its Volunteers. We greatly rely on our Volunteers to assist us in our daily duties throughout all areas of our work.
Volunteering duties in the Charity Shop can include helping customers, working the till and restocking the shelves.
A person might decide to become a Volunteer to gain new skills and experience, to put existing skills to use, to make new friends and to work in the community. As a Volunteer you are a person who offers their time, experience, knowledge and skills without financial gain, helping to achieve objectives or with the aim of providing a benefit to the local community.
DAVE CLOCKS UP 1500 HOURS OF VOLUNTEERING - MAY 2008
One of our Nomad Trust Volunteers, Dave (pictured below), has recently been awarded with a certificate for his voluntary contribution, by clocking up over 1500 hours of voluntary work from January 2007 up to the 3rd of April 2008. Dave is an asset to the Trust and his commitment shows what can be achieved through volunteering, even if it's just a few hours a week. Dave has made new friends during his time with Nomad, but most of all has helped dish up so many dinners to those vulnerable and less fortunate individuals of Lincoln. Thank you Dave for all your help and support.
